Polyurethane Adhesive was first used in the military field in 1947, by Bayer company triphenylmethane triisocyanate successfully applied to metal and rubber bonding, used on the tank track, Japan introduced German and American technology in 1954, began to produce polyurethane adhesive in 1966, and put into industrial production in 1981. At present, Japan's polyurethane adhesives, together with the United States and Western Europe, have become a major producer and exporter of polyurethane. After the 1980s, polyurethane adhesives developed rapidly and have now become a wide variety and widely used industry. In 1956, China developed and produced triphenylmethane triisocyanate (Lekner gum), and soon produced toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and two-component solvent polyurethane adhesive, which is still the largest variety of polyurethane adhesive in China. After that, China has introduced many advanced production lines and products from abroad, which need a large number of imported polyurethane adhesives to match with it, so promote the domestic research units to accelerate the development of polyurethane adhesives, especially after 1986, China's polyurethane industry has entered a period of rapid development. With the continuous advancement of urbanization, information technology and industrialization, domestic investment demand, consumption upgrading demand and ecological environment improvement demand have brought huge growth space for China's polyurethane adhesive market. The rapid development of China's polyurethane adhesive market is mainly related to the continuous development of the domestic economy, as well as the rapid growth of automobile manufacturing, furniture manufacturing, construction industry and other industries. Under the background of the growing market in downstream traditional areas and emerging areas, it is expected that the market size of polyurethane adhesives in China will continue to maintain rapid growth in the next few years. According to the annual meeting of the China Adhesive and Adhesive Tape Industry Association, during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the development goal of China's adhesive industry is the average annual growth rate of 4.2%, the average annual growth rate of sales of 4.3%, and strive to the end of 2025, change the situation of high-end insufficient domestic products and low-end surplus, so that the proportion of high value-added products in the industry can reach more than 40%.
